Connect an AI app
Connect Diurnal to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or another AI app with one address and a browser sign-in.
Diurnal connects to AI apps over MCP, the standard way AI apps reach other services. Your AI app talks to Diurnal over the internet, and you sign in to Diurnal in your browser to allow it. There is no API key to create and nothing to install.
The server address is:
https://api.diurnal.in/mcpBefore you start
- Install Diurnal and sign in once on your Mac. See Install on your Mac.
- Have the AI app you want to connect open.
Pick your app
Claude
On the web or the desktop app.
ChatGPT
With developer mode.
Claude Code
One terminal command.
Cursor
One-click link.
VS Code
From the Command Palette.
Other apps
Any app that can add a remote MCP server.
What happens when you connect
- Your app opens a Diurnal sign-in page in your browser.
- You sign in with Google or with your email, using the account from your Mac.
- The page asks Allow [your app] to use Diurnal? and lists what it can do. Click Allow.
- Your browser returns to the app, which can now work with your tasks. See What your assistant can do.
For what the connection can read and change, and how to disconnect, see Sign-in and access.
