Install on your Mac

Download Diurnal or install it with Homebrew, then sign in with Google or email.

Diurnal runs on macOS 15 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and is notarized by Apple.

Download the app

  1. Open the download page and click Download for Mac.
  2. Open the downloaded file and drag Diurnal into Applications.
  3. Open Diurnal from Applications.

Install with Homebrew

To install from the terminal, run:

brew tap aashu0148/diurnal-brew https://github.com/aashu0148/diurnal-brew.git
brew trust aashu0148/diurnal-brew
brew install --cask diurnal

Sign in

Diurnal needs an account. When the app opens, sign in with Google or with your email and a password. Your tasks then sync to every Mac you sign in to, and are what a connected AI app reads and changes.

Connecting Google Calendar is a separate step you can take later. See Google Calendar.

Open and close Diurnal

Open Diurnal from anywhere with a shortcut or the menu bar, move between Write, Plan and Focus, and close it again.
