Privacy and data
What Diurnal's connector sends between your AI app and your account, what it never does, and where the full privacy policy is.
This page explains the connector's data flow in plain terms. The privacy policy is the binding text, and Data & permissions lists every permission the Mac app uses.
What travels where
- Your AI app sends Diurnal a request: what it wants to do, such as add a task, with the details it needs (a title, a date, your time zone).
- Diurnal answers with just the data that request asks for: the tasks, tags, projects or calendar events involved.
- Your AI app holds that answer in your conversation, under its own privacy policy.
Diurnal never sees your conversation, only the requests your app makes.
What the connector never does
- It never reads another person's data: every request is tied to the account you signed in with.
- It never changes your calendar, your account, or your password.
- It never sends your task text to analytics. Diurnal's product analytics name features, never contents.
What Diurnal keeps
- Your tasks stay in your account while it exists, as they do without a connector.
- Your app's sign-in lapses after 30 days without use, and is deleted when it does. Diurnal keeps only a scrambled copy of it, which can't be used to sign in.
- A record of each connected app (its name, when you connected it, when it was last used) stays with your account so Settings › Account › Connected Apps can list it.
Your choices
- Disconnect any app in Settings › Account › Connected Apps. It loses access at its next request.
- Ask to see or delete the data held for your account at support@diurnal.in.
