Projects
Group tasks into Diurnal projects with a colour and a deadline, track progress, and finish, reopen or delete a project.
A project gathers the tasks for one goal, like a trip or a launch, and shows how far along it is. A task belongs to one project at most.
Create a project
- In Plan › Projects, click New project, type a name, optionally turn on Deadline and pick a date, then click Create.
- Or type + and a name on any task, like "book flights +Kyoto". If there's no project called Kyoto, it's created when the task is saved.
A project name starts with a letter and can be up to 64 characters. Each new project gets its own colour.
Add tasks to a project
- Type

Follow progress
Each project card shows a progress ring, "3 of 5 done", its deadline (red once it's passed) and the next task. Tasks in progress count as halfway. Deadlines also show on Weekly.
Click a card to open the project's page, with its tasks under Today, This week, Later, Anytime and Done. Edit the name and notes there, or click the paint icon to change its colour.
Finish, reopen or delete
- Finish project: if tasks are still open, choose Mark them done, Drop them (deletes them) or Move to the pad. When you complete a project's last task, Diurnal offers to finish it. Finished projects fold under Finished.

- Delete project removes the project but keeps its tasks. Click Undo on the message to take it back.
