Using Diurnal

Recurring tasks

Make a Diurnal task repeat on chosen weekdays, complete or skip one day, change the repeat, or stop it.

A recurring task comes back on the days you choose, like "water the plants" every Monday and Thursday.

Make a task repeat

Click + Repeat on a task (or choose Repeat… from its menu), then pick the days: Every day, Weekdays, or any mix of weekdays. A repeating task can also have a time, notes and tags.

Repeats are weekly, on the weekdays you pick. Typing "every Monday" isn't read as a repeat; use + Repeat.

Each day's copy

A recurring task shows up on each day it repeats, in Weekly and on the pad, and once under Repeating in Plan › All time.

  • Complete one day: check it. Only that day is done.
  • Skip one day: press ⌘⌫ or choose Delete for today. Only that day is skipped, and Undo brings it back.

Change or stop a repeat

  • Editing a day's copy changes the whole series. Click its date to change the days.
  • To stop, right-click and choose Stop repeating, or choose Doesn't repeat in the repeat card. Today keeps a normal one-off copy.

Repeating tasks can't belong to a project.
